Personal Finance Requirement in Curriculums

Could you imagine if public schools and colleges added personal finance as a core curriculum requirement for graduation?

What kind of impact do you think that would make? Imagine if we were taught how to actually manage our money instead of…

*Being taught that debt is normal.

*Being taught that working until age 67 is normal.

*Being taught that investing is a ‘gamble’, but buying more house than we can afford is ok.

*Being taught to celebrate someone buying that new car making $600/month payments.

*Being taught Art appreciation as a curriculum requirement but nothing about taxes, W2’s, IRAs, Real Estate, etc.

Things are changing with education and guidance with finances. Regardless of these changes, your financial future always starts with you.

~The day you figure out that work is intended to be a ‘part of your life’ and NOT ‘your entire existence’, you’ll start to make changes.

~The day you figure out that your debts in the form of interest paid is a penalty on your TIME, you’ll start to make changes.

~The day you figure out that cars, boats, ATVs are all depreciating liabilities, you’ll start to make changes.

~The day you figure out that investing in income producing assets builds wealth, you’ll start making changes.

It all starts with you. No one else is going to do it for you.
