Financial Health + Physical Health = Financially Fit
Thereโs a symbiotic relationship between financial health and physical health…
Symbiotic Relationship
In terms of science, BOTH are essential for MENTAL HEALTH. Hereโs the last sentence that defines Symbiotic Relationship, โ๐๐๐๐ฎ ๐ฅ๐ง๐ค๐ซ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ก๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฉ ๐๐๐ฃ ๐ค๐ฃ๐ก๐ฎ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ ๐ฌ๐ค๐ง๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฉ๐ค๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐งโ.
Bingo. Hereโs something else that puts it into perspective
If you want to have great financial health and better physical health, you have to ask yourself, โhow bad do I want itโ? Speaking from experience on both, YOU HAVE TO WANT IT. You have to stop at nothing to achieve it.
I didnโt understand this until 6 years ago. Once I decided enough was enough I took back control of my physical health. I poured everything I had into making that change. At the time, we lived in Hattiesburg, MS in our small apartment while Meredith was working on her Doctorate and I would RUN STAIRS, Run around the entire apartment complex 3-4 days a week. Mile by mile I got faster, I lost weight, & made a lifestyle change. Having clear thought processes, navigating tough decisions, and overcoming challenges, was HARD before I made that lasting change. Along with the physical changes…the biggest and best change brought mental clarity to my life.
You Have to Want IT
Financial health can be achieved similarly, but through methods of self-education, independent research, reviewing your expenses vs your income, and focusing heavily on paying off all debts while building your retirement. You have to WANT it. This is something we knew we needed, but didnโt know how to get there. While we havenโt made it to the goal yet, our financial health is significantly healthier today than it was 2 years ago!
Having both financial and physical health = mental health. We found that we needed both for balance in our lives and we work to keep both as top priorities DAILY!
