Lifestyle and Careers

2020 is a Rollercoaster of Emotions

But…I’m excited to announce…

After 17 years of working in Healthcare and Healthcare Information Technology, I’m (Brett) making a career change! Woah…What?!?

Our Finest Moments

“Our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.” — M. Scott Peck.

Maybe it’s the Pandemic?

I had a hard time finding the right quote, but this one sums up this past year working in Healthcare. Sadly, I’ve been all the “Uns” mentioned in that quote. When I started as an X-ray Tech in 2003, I chose it & I loved it. Each progression and promotion through healthcare since then taught me so much. I enjoyed most of what I did, but this past year (or two, maybe three??) has been my most challenging. I lost the passion for it. Maybe it was being laid off twice in the last 10 months, maybe it’s the Pandemic, or Maybe it’s just me and it’s time for a change.

So what’s the plan?

I will be working as a Master Financial Coach Independently & a Financial Professional with NY Life. I can work my own schedule, continue to travel with Meredith, continue being a stay at home doggy dad, etc. As some of you read this, you’re probably saying, “I can totally see him doing that”! 😉. In addition, I plan to complete Real Estate courses to obtain my license as an agent once we settle down again in the future. Financial Health, Real Estate, & Physical Health & Wellness are my passions, I’ve learned so much and I sincerely want to help others who need to be seen, heard, and helped! That’s all I can share for now, but I’ll be sharing much more soon!

At age 36, I had no idea I’d be making a career change, no idea I’d find new passions, no idea this was the path intended for me to take. BUT, I wouldn’t have found this path without our journey and the loving support of my wife, Meredith.

Now, let’s get financially fit.
