If you are in the market for a truck to pull your 5th Wheel or Toy Hauler RV and are considering what type of hitch to buy…
We strongly recommend the Andersen Hitch! In particular, we have the Gooseneck Mount – Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection. Andersen Hitch
Here’s some details about the Andersen Hitch:
> Family-owned, US-based company is headquartered in Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA.
> Gooseneck hitch is lightweight enough for one person to install on their own, strong enough to tow the heaviest of loads, and has an installation method simple enough that the base can be installed or removed in less than a minute.
>They come as different setups with a lowered version and a toolbox version.
> Prices start at $800, not including frame mounts or installation.
Our experience with the Andersen Hitch over the last 2 years has been great. Here’s why:
> I can back the truck up at almost any angle to hook up to the king pin.
> Turning radius is amazing. Critically important when towing a large 5th wheel ours.
> Can connect and disconnect in minutes. In fact, this is the quickest part of the entire process.
> No haggling with being exactly lined up like traditional hitches.
> Lightweight. I believe it weighs like 40-50 pounds. Which the standard 5th wheel hitch weighs something like 200 pounds comparably.
> Easy to take out. Although admittedly, we’ve not bothered because we have an 8 foot bed, so we still have plenty of room to use even with the hitch in place.
> Low profile makes installing a bed cover easy.
> Costs just a bit more than the traditional hitch, but in our opinion it’s worth every penny.
